Day 117

My aunt and uncle took Erin and I out to lunch this afternoon and they suprised me with a whole bunch of Best Buy gift cards and some cash. It was for all the website work I did for the the soccer club my cousins play for over the course of the year.

I can definitley get the digital camcorded now that I wanted for when the baby comes. Not sure if Erin will actually let me film during the delivery but I hope I can get some footage. Anyway, I know that I will be able to to at least film the baby and all those special moments that lie ahead.

I can't wait!!!

Day 114

My uncle got me some extra work doing website maintenance for a women's professional soccer team in the Princeton area called the NJ Wildcats. It isn't a ton of a money.. a few hundred dollars here and there for ongoing changes and updates. At this point any extra work I can do from home is helpful just to have some extra spending money. I'm sure with the baby it will come in handy. Not to mention that I can do a lot of the work remotely. Speaking of money ... Erin has been stressing a little because we still have to do some shopping for holiday gifts. I keep telling her we don't have to buy for that many people so we can probably get it all done in one afternoon of shopping.

We also have to submit our 11 month list for our new construction so Erin and I spend the last couple of days trying to locate all of the nail pops that have emerged as the house settled.

It seems like I am learning a lot of new things all at the same time... how to to deal with a long commute and full time job (have that pretty much down pat at this point)... dealing with being a home owner... a husband.. expectant father... its quite an interesting ride. I just know that the next 4 or 5 months are going to fly by.

Day 109

I am feeling a little old ... now that I got my 10 year highschool reunion. It is scheduled for Thanksgiving time next Novemember. By then I will be 28 (oh so close to 30) and I will have a 6 month old. I can only imagine how quickly time is going to fly and Erin continues getting more and more pregnant. She already looks so cute with a little belly. She is also adorable when she tries to use this little electronic device that my dad must have got on Ebay that supposedly lets your hear the babies heartbeat. I think it is a piece of junk because so far the only thing you can hear is Erin's stomach growling or her own heartbeat.

Day 106

Erin says the baby is kicking all the time now... she can feel some light kicks.. some movement... I can't feel anything yet since the baby is too small. Hopefully soon I will be able to feel them. That would be really awesome!

Erin aslo is having some more aches and pains as the baby starts to get bigger. I have been forbidden from sleeping on my back. Well that's entirely true but Erin has complained about how if she isn't allowed to lay on her back because of the baby then I should have to lay on my side too... not to metion that sometimes she has me spoon with her for back support and to also hold the heating pad that she uses up against her so it actually does something.

Even though it can be a pain sometimes.. it will be very nice to hold Erin once I can feel the baby moving around too...

Day 98

This isn't directly related to the baby but I guess in a weird way it does open my eyes to how not everything can be perfectly planned or scripted. I went to start my car this morning for whatever reason it just wouldn't turn on. I figured I must have left the lights on or something so I had AAA come to give it a jump start. They came and they tried.... and they tried... for over an hour. They even said that I needed to put more gas in the car so they went and bought gas and filled it up and the car still wouldn't start.

I ended up having to work from home while the car was towed to the closest dealer. Apparently, the battery was shot and the "computer" needed to be replaced. So $600 later my car was ready. I guess the bottom line is that I can look foward to these kind of suprises when they will be even more of problem (i.e. when the baby is here). Actually it was good that I got the car all done before the afternoon because I had to meet Erin for our next baby appointment.
